Anthropic has added a new file creation/editing feature in Claude. You can now ask Claude to produce ready-to-use files — Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PDF — from scratch or using your data. It supports working with raw uploads (spreadsheets, reports, invoices), turning them into polished documents, slides, or analyses. The feature is in preview for Max, Team, Enterprise users; Pro users will get it soon.
You enable it via settings > “Upgraded file creation and analysis.” Then you upload files or describe what you want. Claude works like a collaborator: it writes formulas, builds dashboards, formats documents, even converts PDF reports into slide decks.
A caution: because Claude actually writes and runs code in a private environment, there’s risk to data. Users are advised to monitor chats and evaluate privacy/security for sensitive info.
