OpenAI has launched ChatGPT Go, a new budget-friendly subscription tier that expands access to its popular generative AI by offering significantly more usage and features than the free tier at a lower price point — in the U.S. it costs about $8 per month and it’s available globally in many regions; Go users get access to GPT-5.2 Instant with about 10× more messages, file uploads, and image creation than the free plan, plus a longer memory and larger context window, positioning it between the free and higher-end ChatGPT Plus and Pro plans. OpenAI also plans to begin testing advertising in the free and Go tiers in select markets to help support accessibility, while keeping Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise ad-free.
