Google is rolling out a major update to Chrome that deeply integrates its Gemini 3 AI model right into the browser with a new side panel assistant and an agentic feature called “auto browse.”Auto browse goes beyond traditional autofill by autonomously completing multi-step tasks—like researching flights or hotels, comparing products, filling out forms, planning trips, and even adding items to your cart from inspiration images and applying discounts—on your behalf, while still showing you the actions it takes and asking for confirmation before sensitive steps like purchases or logins. The update also expands Chrome’s AI capabilities with deeper integration across Google services (like Gmail, Calendar, Maps, Shopping, and Flights) and adds creative tools like Nano Banana for on-the-fly image editing. Auto browse is initially available in the U.S. to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers and represents Google’s push to make browsing more productive and automated.
