YouTube is pushing hard into AI-generated video. The company recently announced new tools that let creators use AI to make or enhance video content. Some tools let users generate visuals from text prompts. Others let creators convert podcast audio into video by generating matching visuals.

YouTube’s CEO, Neal Mohan, says this work builds on its core mission: giving more people a voice. The shift has big possible upsides, but also risks. Authentic human content may get overshadowed by AI stuff. Defining what counts as “authentic” will get harder.

YouTube plans to label AI-made videos. But viewers currently can’t filter out AI-generated content. More AI-video content may change what creators make, how audiences watch, and how the platform defines creativity.
